2017 Pinot Noir - Garys' Vineyard
Garys' Vineyard resides in Monterey County’s venerated Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. Inspired by his friend and legendary winegrower Gary Pisoni, local multigenerational farmer Gary Franscioni planted this vineyard in 1997 and it has since become one of California’s most sought-after sources for Pinot Noir. The signatures of Garys' Vineyard include deep color, long flavors and stunning complexity.
The 2017 vintage is sultry, seductive and sophisticated on the nose, offering aromas of bright cherry, Belgian chocolate, pipe tobacco and lavender. The palate is silky and vibrant with flavors of dried cherries, barberry, rose hips and baking spices. Assertive yet understated notes of gooseberry and moist earth emphasize the harmony of soil and fruit, creating a tension of flavors and textures working in harmony. This Pinot Noir ultimately exhibits a pureness of character that reflects its California mountain heritage.
