2016 DAOU UNBOUND
A unique Paso Robles blend, the 2016 Unbound is a fusion of Petite Sirah with accents of Tannat and Tempranillo that displays a tremendous balance of fruit and tannins.
The 2016 Unbound is dark, inky violet aubergine color, with a warm, rich nose of blueberry pie, boysenberry jam and crushed mulberries. Cedar shavings with graphite and dried owers are accentuated by vanilla crème highlights and a subtle hint of mint. Seductively silky and smooth on the palate, firmly structured with velvety tannins. Layers of fruit flavors emerge and evolve; blackberry and plum, blueberry and currant to raspberry and cherry. Underlying notes of damp earth, leather and desert sage complement and harmonize with the bountiful fruit. The finish is long and strong, with a softness on the tongue that belies the power contained within. Ending on notes of pomegranate and cherry with purity and refinement, this unique wine will continue to mature and age very gracefully.
