2010 DAOU ESTATE SOUL OF A LION
Deep velvet core with a light purple rim. The nose is treated to fresh cut violets with crushed blackberries and cocoa aromas. When tasted the combination of ripe blueberries and blackberries combined with hints of cedar, tobacco and cèpe confirms this wines complexity. The wines structure is in balance with bright acidity, firm tannins and moderate alcohol. The finish is long and seamless with hints of toasted vanilla and hazelnuts. Made from the best producing blocks on DAOU mountain at 2,200 feet elevation with low yields of less than a ton an acre This wine received three weeks of extended maceration on skins, was aged in 100% new French Oak and is 100% free run like all DAOU wines.
