Question: What membership types do you have available?

Answer: We have two memberships available. The Proprietor Membership and the Mountain Membership.

Question: What is the difference between Mountain Membership and the Proprietor Membership?

Answer: The main differences between these memberships are the wines included in each allocation and the access to the different levels of DAOU wine. See below for a breakdown of each membership.

3 Selections per year – primarily Reserve, Paso Robles and some Estate wines

Proprietor Membership
3 Selections per Year – exclusively DAOU Estate Wines

Question: What is the anticipated cost per allocation?

Answer: See below for an estimated breakdown of cost of each membership and level.

12 Vins (25% preferred pricing)
12 bottles per allocation, 3 times per year
Average cost is $650 + tax/shipping

6 Vins (20% preferred pricing)
6 bottles per allocation, 3 times per year
Average cost $325 + tax/shipping 

Proprietor Membership
12 Vins (25% preferred pricing)
12 bottles per allocation, 3 times per year
Average cost is $850 + tax/shipping

QuestionI like white whites. Can I only get white wines in my allocations?

Answer: Yes, you can. In order to ensure that you receive only white wines, we recommend contacting the Wine Club at 805.226.5460 x 205 to customize your allocation. One of the best benefits of our membership is the ability to receive our newest release wines or customize among other wines we have available. You can also login to your account during the customization periods and update your selection to the white wines we have available for customization.

Question: Can I taste the new releases before I choose my wines for my allocation?

Answer: We are not able to offer tastings of our new release wines as these are pre-releases. As a club member, you get first access to our most exclusive wines. Many times, these wines are so limited that we are not able to pour them in the tasting room. Our winemaker recommended selection offers you the ability to secure our new release wines that often times sell out before the end of an allocation.

Question: Is there a cancellation fee?

Answer: If a member fulfills their obligation of three club allocations, there is no cancellation fee. If a member does not fulfill the obligation and quits the club prior to receiving three club allocations, they will be charged the balance of any previous discounts they had received.

Question: Can you hold my wine to pick up at the winery?

Answer: Yes, our pick up window per allocation is typically 6-8 weeks so that you can join us at DAOU Mountain to pick up your wine. Please make sure your preferences are set to be a “pick up” member in order to secure your wines at the winery to pick up.

Question: Can my friends use my membership privileges?

Answer: Proprietor members are granted 4 complimentary tastings annually for referred friends and family. Otherwise, as the club member, we do ask that you are present in the tasting room with your guests. We are able to make some special accommodations for guests of members in our tasting room.
