Rancho Santa Fe, California, October 1st, 2007 – Daou Vineyards launches La Capilla Vineyards—a product line that will be introducing exquisite wines from the California central coast.
Daou Vineyards has just released approximately 4,700 cases of high quality wines to the market. The wines will be primarily distributed in the United States and Mexico. All of the products will be made available for sale on the La Capilla Web site at www.lacapillavineyards.com as well as via wholesale distribution in the United States and Mexico.
This first portfolio of wines includes six different blends: a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that is muscular and worthy of aging, an exotic blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah called Mélange (blend in French), a wonderful and savory Petite Sirah mixed with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah called Saveur (Savory in French), an old vine Zinfandel that comes from a vineyard with vines ranging from 45 to 90 years old, a 100% Syrah that originates in a wonderful high elevation vineyard incorporating an incredible balance and purity and an old vine Zinfandel Reserve that comes predominantly from 90 year old vines from the Lodi region.
The wines have been barrel tasted by many experts in the field and the reviews have far exceeded many expectations. All of the wines come from vineyards with a great terroir and incorporate all of the vineyard management philosophies of Daou Vineyards. The wines reflect superior intensity and concentration while maintaining elegance and balance.
